We tried to move a new couch into our apartment today ... only to find that it didn't fit. Word to the wise: Measure a couch before you try to fit it through a door frame.
We also tried to hang a shelf. Word to the wise: Have all the parts of the drill before you start working.
My roommate and I are going to try to explore more and more places in DC this summer. Top of the list is Eighth Street, as it's just around the corner and has a good number of restaurants and bars. The atmosphere is relaxed and many places have outdoor seating - which is one of my favorite things about summers in cities. Hopefully over the next few weeks we'll be able to slowly check places off the list.
We went out in Adams Morgan last night ... and minus the crowd of college-aged/probably-underage/trying-too-hard guys and girls, it was a good time. I think we forgot how much fun it can be there - if you can handle the dirty bathrooms, lack of cabs and over-intoxication. We needed a night at a grimy, crowded bar.
So despite the house repair setbacks, a good weekend.
